“WGST’s mentoring program for girls, Young Women Studies Program (YWLP) has been awarded a $7,000 Community Action Grant from the American Association of University Women (AAUW) to integrate a STEM sub-program titled SLAM (Science Leadership and Mentoring) for 2016-2017. SLAM focuses on STEM leadership, education, and careers. Big Sisters expose, encourage and excite their Little Sisters towards STEM education and careers through their mentoring, interactive activities, workshops, and weekend events at UCF.
