Our celebration started yesterday March 7th with #WomanFest2017 a day of activities for all to join the conversation on empowerment and service with a panel, open mic and zine workshop. The Women’s and Gender Studies program supports all women in higher education and promotes safe spaces for all people in campus. In a day like today, March 8, you can join the American Association of University Women in their #StandUptoSexism campaign by challenging your biases. The truth is that even the most dedicated of activists can harbor unconscious biases around issues like gender and race. Fortunately, we can all take action to combat our preconceived ideas. Change begins within each of us, and identifying our own biases paves the way for dismantling bias when we see it happen externally. Join the movement for a better tomorrow!
