The Young Women Leaders Program connects girls to a community of support aimed at developing their leadership and helping them succeed. Our program is informed by Girls Studies scholarship and a research-based curriculum. As a structured mentoring group, YWLP provides a space for girls to practice leadership and create meaningful relationships with peers and their trained collegiate mentors.
In mentoring pairs and small groups of Big and Little Sisters, participants learn problem solving skills, media literacy, how to create positive peer relationships, and strategies for goal setting and thinking about the future. Our work in YWLP also informs collegiate courses, complementing the Girls Studies focus within the Women’s Studies Program.
